We are very excited to share some big news with you!

Baby & Toddler Awards are now The Bambini Baby Awards.

We feel this much better expresses who we are, especially with all of our Italian connections (Viv studied and lived in Sicily while at University, Joanna has lived in Rimini, Italy and is married to an Italian and Dan has lived in the beautiful Lake Garda area for the last 5 years (We’ll share more about these adventures below!).

We also wanted to the awards to stand out more as a quality stamp for high quality products created in an ethically sound manner.

Thanks again for being part of our journey last year. We absolutely love being involved with other organizations who are on the same page as us when it comes to products for someone small!

The Bambini Baby Awards Italian Connection.
So, as mentioned, we al have strong links to Italy. Viv was the first of us to live there, first as an au pair in Tuscany, then spending a year in Messina on the north-eastern tip of Sicily. This was part of an Erasmus programme as she was in the midst of studying a Business and Italian degree at the University of Manchester.

Not long after, Joanna also went the au pair route, looking after a little girl whose family ran a hotel in Cattolica, a beautiful seaside town on the Adriatic coast, close to Rimini and San Marino. There, she met a local boy and a while later they found a flat together while she taught English, and he worked as a Chef. Not long after they moved to London although they returned to Cattolica to get married in 2018.

Finally, I (Dan) made a move to Italy in 2016. In his case to Lake Garda in the North of Italy. I already knew the area well as we have family there so it didn’t feel like I was making as big a jump as someone who moves somewhere completely new. It’s one of the most beautiful spots in the world and I never get tired of the views and mountain scenes. It’s also a very child-friendly place and babies get lots of attention from the locals!

So, we hope you can now see that this rebrand represents us much better than our old name which while functional, didn’t really express what we want from the awards. Ultimately, we put all of our passion and heart into these awards and so its important for us that we have our own strong identity. That goes well with our ethos and certainly it’s also true for many of our favourite companies who also wear their hearts on their sleeves and take pride in their backstories and mission statements.

We have big plans for 2021 and are determined to make this year’s awards the best yet. Stay tuned for more news on the upcoming awards and for more blogs on the challenges of parenting!
